Artist Statement

On March 23 the state of Ohio declared a stay-at-home order for all residents to slow down the rise in COVID-19 cases.  I was told to work from home and so was my wife:  the common story of most Americans recently.  My first venture outside with my camera was on a sunny, cool day on May 5 with two of my friends.  We hiked up the hill in my backyard and onto a 400-acre nature preserve.  We didn’t wear masks.  But we did relish every step together, stopping to ponder and photograph the wonders and oddities of creation.
