Exhibition Committee
Blue Sky in 1975
At the outset, Blue Sky’s five founders - Robert DiFranco, Craig Hickman, Ann Hughes, Chris Rauschenberg, and Terry Toedtemeier - jointly organized its exhibitions. Today, Blue Sky’s exhibitions are selected by a volunteer Exhibition Committee (EC) comprised of members of the organization, including gallery Members, Staff and Board. This curatorial methodology is in keeping with the democratic, participatory, and member-based mission of Blue Sky.
Membership for the EC is open to all current members of Blue Sky.
The EC encourages active participation and meets regularly on Tuesday evenings to review submissions, as well as install exhibitions prior to exhibition openings.
Submissions are approved by a majority vote. New EC participants must attend six meetings before gaining voting privileges. Thereafter, active participation requires having a current Blue Sky membership and attending at least six meetings within six months.
