Sleepwalking in the Cascades is a project spanning two decades wandering my local mountain range. The work combines my love for traditional black and white landscape photography with a documentary approach, highlighting solitude and scale. Like many who venture into our wilderness areas, recreation was the primary reason I first ventured into the backcountry. The ability to transport from one complicated reality into a much simpler and more beautiful one is what keeps me going back. I look forward to continuing the series as policy, access, and the climate crisis changes our relationship to public lands.
