Artist Statement
I create in one click of the shutter an unexpected conversation. In the process of reflections, there are disparate, incongruous images brought onto the same surface, one image interacting with another. my interest is in visual layering without manipulation.
Artist Bio
An east coaster who moved west. My art education was at The Cooper Union For The Advancement Of Science And Art (BFA) in NYC where lived for a significant time. I had been a Portland Art Museum docent/educator for twenty years, specializing in photography, Asian and contemporary art. I am an inveterate traveler and collector of Meiji-era Japanese prints.My affinity towards Asian subject matter has led to extensive work that has been showcased in 5 separate Chinese festivals.
