Artist Statement
last summer at Sellwood Pool still shrouded in its winter cover and circled by a padlocked fence.. walked a few steps to the playground area where all the structures were vacant with some having yellow Do NOT Cross police tape draped around them…. this image seemed the one to mark the space we were in..the absence of..the stillness in - this scene evoked a heaviness of sadness and loneliness .what I notice in the picture is the way LIGHT played on the swings and on the ground where children had been and holding the promise of their coming back
