Call for Entry: The Trick Photography Show
Submit your work today to The Trick Photography Show - 50th Anniversary Online Exhibition
Submission Deadline: Fri, Mar 13 by 4:59 PM (PT)
Exhibition Launch: Thu, Apr 2, 2025
Entry Fee: Free
In April 1982, the original Trick Photography Show invited artists to bend perception through image making. This year, we reopen that spirit of curiosity and surprise with a new online open call honoring its legacy. One of the most exciting parts of a show like this is seeing how differently people understand the theme. “Trick Photography” can mean many things: optical illusions, unusual perspectives, staged scenes, or something more unexpected. The only requirement is that your work connects in some way to the theme.
We encourage you to submit up to three images connecting the theme “Trick Photography” by Fri, Mar 13 at 4:59 PM (PT). The show will be juried by Chris Rauschenberg and will be published on Thu, Apr 2, 2026. Surprise us with your submissions!
In October 1975, five unemployed but passionate photographers envisioned a $40/month, 125 sq ft storefront as a space to exhibit photography. 50 years and more than 1,000 solo exhibitions and 60 group shows later, Blue Sky Gallery is celebrating its legacy with a new online exhibition series: 12 themed online open calls, one for each month of our 50th anniversary year.
