In A River Once Dreamed, Andrew Kung reimagines the Hudson River School’s landscape paintings by photographing Asian American men staged along the Hudson. These constructed scenes challenge national myths shaped by Manifest Destiny, reclaiming visibility, belonging, and identity within America’s pastoral landscape while reconfiguring nature and historical erasure.
