Rebecca Palmer

Artist Statement

During the pandemic shutdown I decided to print images I made during a long-ago eclipse.  Mentally, I felt eclipsed during the shelter-in-place experience.  The Coronavirus pandemic transformed my familiar outer world as well as my inner world of thoughts and emotions. The eclipse images fit my mental state: this was uncertain, shifting, at times apprehensive and unsure of a balance point. In addition, as time has passed, the American political landscape has been disrupted and perhaps transformed. What will the future be like, for myself, my family and colleagues, and for society as a whole?
