Julie Mihaly

Artist Statement

Enclosed are 5 excerpts from When the World Shrank, a photo/text diary that I began soon after NY was ordered to shelter in place. After about a month of taking pictures that related to or embodied life during this pandemic I simply couldn’t make myself do it anymore. It had become painfully boring.  So when I leave the house these days, I’m just out there safely taking pictures- just pictures. Doesn’t matter what they’re of or if they have anything to do with Covid-19. I just take pictures as I always have & always will.
