These photographs reflect the physical and visual experience of racing a bicycle, focusing on speed, proximity, and momentum. Racing compresses attention. Color fades, vision softens, and focus narrows to what lies ahead, sometimes disappearing altogether as you push yourself to your limit. The sensation is not one of isolated moments, but of continuous effort and forward motion. My work grows out of my life-long involvement with cycling and a desire to translate the physical demands of the sport into visual form. Rather than documenting results or spectacle, these images focus on the act of racing itself.
