Artist Statement
This image is part of an ongoing project exploring store windows. We go past them all the time, but we seldom pay close attention unless something of particular interest catches our eye. However, shop windows are a conglomeration of light and shadow, fleeting reflections of passing people and cars, mirrored impressions of trees and buildings, real objects on display, incongruous and sometimes overlapping subjects, all viewed on or through a layer of glass. What I’m trying to capture is the complexity and richness of this constantly changing imagery.
Artist Bio
I’ve been an active photographer for over 50 years. Largely self-taught, I work in digital and analog, color and black and white, and a variety of formats, depending on the project. These days I shoot the majority of my images in the context of other activities: family outings, going for walks, running errands, shopping, etc. I firmly believe there are always interesting images to be created if only I have the eye and skills to make them. I consider myself a photo artist, and I’m open to experimentation and a broad range of subjects while striving for quality images.
