Artist Statement

Awakening begins in a darkness that is not emptiness, but a boundless field of potential—a silence deeper than time. From this stillness, a spark of light emerges, not to banish the dark, but to awaken being from within. Africa, the cradle of humanity, holds the memory of that first illumination. This series reflects both the birth of the universe and the instant life becomes aware of itself—a visual meditation on the threshold where light and shadow touch, and where presence and absence quietly recognize each other, breathing together for the very first time.
