Clara DeWeese

Artist Statement

My photographic practice is a social study; I seek to convey the significance of human connection as a means for growth. Isolation during the pandemic has forced me to redirect the camera towards myself at times while my extroverted self pines for social contact. These works span from the last Mardi Gras before COVID, to my great escape North to Montana to be closer to family and nature. Highlighted in my work is the constant state of discomfort and dissatisfaction felt as we attempt to cope by seeking truth during this time of crisis.
