Susanne Wellm

March 1-31, 2001

The poetic photogravure’s of Susanne Wellm reflect glimpses of daily life and sensory experiences, quietly telling simple stories and capturing private moments. Wellm’s work is strongly influenced by European filmmakers such as Tarkovskij, Dreyer and Kieslowski, and she uses grid and diptych sequencing to provide a narrative element to your photographs. She writes, “I use my camera to record daily living, as looking througha window and into a mirror. My captions are Nordic melancholic moods and longing for light.”

Blue Sky’s mission for the past quarter century has been and continues to be to educate the public about photography through exhibitions & publications, to further the careers & artistic development of the artists shown, to create a dialogue among artists & between artists & the public, & to leave a concrete permanent record of their work through print & digital publications.
