In the images of female adolescents, I explore representations of self awareness, the process of self-realization and the insecurity which afflicts all teenage women. I have used the camera to channel childhood feeling of alienation. My images are representations of issues that most concern young women; loneliness, fitting in, looking fashionable, and pressure to succeed. My goal has been to show the tension between girl and women. As I revisit years growing up, I realize that these photographs are an attempt to absolve myself of emotions stemming from adolescent insecurity.
