Straight Shooting

July 3, 1996 - July 27, 1996

The Oregon Commission on Children & Families’ program, Straight Shooting puts cameras and knowledge of their use in the hands of at-risk youth from Baker, Clackamas, Marion, Malheur, Multnomah and Washington Counties- in order for them to be able to document the experiences affecting their lives. The program’s goals were to provide these young people ages 12-19, with a positive, empowering learning experiences as they cultivated mentor-protege relationships with professional photographers, and to increase community awareness of the issues facing at-risk youth through exhibitions of their photographs.
