Artist Statement

Elisabeth Dare's analogue photographs are a reflection of her time spent alone working as a wilderness ranger in the remote backcountry of the Pacific Northwest. These 35mm film images embrace experimental photographic elements including multiple exposure, light leaks, expired film, and development in alternative chemicals. The dream-like imagery is captured throughout explorations of the Glacier Peak Wilderness and Alpine Lakes Wilderness of eastern Washington.
