Blue Sky Collectors Club
Formed in early 2010, the Blue Sky Collectors Club is organized around a simple principle: buying art propels the art economy.
When someone purchases an original print from a Blue Sky exhibition, not only is that person acquiring a wonderful work of art to be enjoyed for years to come, she or he is also directly supporting both the artist and Blue Sky's mission as a nonprofit organization. That makes three beneficiaries from a single purchase of art.
Both novice and experienced collectors are welcome. We want to bring together individuals who are curious about learning how to start collecting photography, as well as those who may want to grow a collection with new work by emerging artists.
As a member of the Collectors Club, Blue Sky offers:
- Regularly informative gatherings with curators, collectors, and photography experts,
- Exclusive access to artists exhibiting at Blue Sky,
- Exposure to established collections here in Portland,
- Opportunities to see how curatorial decisions are made for museum purchases,
- An encouraging, friendly way to support the arts economy-with refreshments!
Participating in the Collectors Club requires modest annual dues: $100 (this is in addition to your Blue Sky Membership). In return, Blue Sky will apply the full amount of your dues toward your first print purchase from Blue Sky in the coming year, and will offer a 10% discount for each subsequent print purchase.
