Luigi Ghirri

Luigi Ghirri (1943-1992) revolutionized Italian photography with his fresh color snap-shot style observations of Italian contemporary culture. His small delicately colored prints were conceived in series to create visual poems. In the vein of Walker Evans, William Eggleston, and Lee Friedlander, Ghirri’s photos reflect a certain nostalgia and capture oddly timeless fragments of the urban landscape.
