32 years old and we're finally buying our first home!
Since 1975, we've produced 583 solo shows by 500 artists, 46 group shows, 140 photo posters, hundreds of books, exhibition catalogues, postcards and photo cds, and more genuine plastic Blue Sky membership objects than you can shake a stick at.
We've done it all in spaces that were never as terrific as the photographs we showed, never as big as our international reputation, and never as useful and efficient as all the dedicated folks who have contributed countless volunteer hours to make the great work of Blue Sky happen.
It's time to have a proper home for the Blue Sky photography community.
Where We're Going
• More than doubling our space – to 3600 square feet.
• Adding a library and a Northwest Photography Archive.
• Building a real workspace for our tried-and-true volunteers and small but mighty staff.
• Creating a cozy space for photographers and photography lovers to gather.
Best of all it's in a great building – the DeSoto Art Park project at Northwest 8th Avenue at Davis Street – on the North Park Blocks, where the Pearl District meets up with Oldtown and Chinatown, with fabulous neighbors like the Museum of Contemporary Craft, Augen Gallery, Charles Hartman Fine Art and Froelick Gallery.
Why We Need You
The Blue Sky community has always been about the people.
• People who make photographs.
• People who love photographs.
• People who contribute their time to support our photography community.
And now we need people who contribute their money
• To help us reach our goal.
• To help us build a better Blue Sky.
