Artist
For the past five years, Lisa Robinson has been making photographs in the
snow and ice. Like fine haiku, each image quietly references another season, a time of life or activity that has already passed, and may come again. Throughout the series run the leitmotifs of poles and ropes and a palette of man-made color. The relationship between the human and the natural world becomes more tightly intertwined as the series progresses, and the cycles of life and death and
transformation fold inward.
Alex Fradkin, Lisa Robinson and Danielle Mericle will present artist talks on Saturday, April 5th, at 3pm. The lecture is free of charge and open to the public. Blue Sky is open at its new location in the DeSoto Building, on the east side of the North Park Blocks between Davis and Couch, from noon to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday. For further information call (503) 225-0210.
