Bruce Hall's classic take on California as informed by his loneliness and search for connection in a new location, presents a time capsule of a culture as seen by a transplant from Texas. Taken from 1982 to 1992, in Los Angeles and occasionally Long Beach and San Francisco, Bruce's photographs capture the unguarded moments of life – the gesture, the look, and the contextual detail - without regard for political or social issues.
