Blue Sky Gallery, 1231 NW Hoyt, is proud to present a lecture and slide presentation by Athens photographer Eleni Mouzakiti on Friday, September 8 at 7:30 pm at Blue Sky Gallery. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Mouzakiti’s In Limbo, a series of photographs taken in the London underground during the years 1999-2004, explore the notion of “civil inattention” in the public realm. Taken with a digital videocamera at waist level, she captures the “inactivity” of the moment and ponders the oppositional roles of “theatricality and absorption” in her subjects as they are observed partaking mainly in activities of the private domain: Reading, sleeping, and daydreaming.

Mouzakiti’s images will be on display at Blue Sky the month of September.
