Blue Sky Gallery, 1231 NW Hoyt, is proud to present a lecture and slide presentation by visiting photographer Mike Smith on Friday, July 7 at 7:30 pm at Blue Sky Gallery. The lecture is free and open to the public.

In trying to gain entry to the interior, private world of Southern Appalachia, virtually forgotten by the rest of America, photographer Mike Smith would often hear upon knocking on a door, “You’re not from around here.” Despite his ‘outsider’ status, Smith, through compelling and narrative photographs, allows us a rare and intimate glimpse of this unique region of America.
