Artist
Regional photographer Ann Kendellen’s poetic black and white images reflect the
fleeting relationships between light, surface and life as discovered in the quiet
spaces of everyday places surrounding us all. Her photos, taken in the Portland
area as part of her own work as well as a member of the Portland Grid Project,
document and uncover the broader meaning of home, the city she lives in. She
writes, “Wandering through Portland I find the relics of people’s lives and occupations,
colliding and connecting with the elements and with traces of other inhabitants,
imagined or otherwise.” Kendellen will lecture on Thursday, August 10 at
7:30 pm.
