Martina Mullaney’s moving series, “Turn In” record empty beds in hostels and shelters, referencing the iconography of an empty bed, while presenting a striking and intimate statement on the social concern of homelessness. Abstracted of people, the images allow the viewer to interpret the aesthetic and write their own story within the walls of the rooms she documents.
