John Ganis also explores landscape in his color images documenting the over-developed American landscape. Consuming the American Landscape successfully reflects the context of past and present attitudes towards "nature" and "culture," and emphasizes that the environmentally concerned artist must understand and transcend the dichotomy between these two forces. This series is to be published as a book, due out in 2003.
