For 10 years, Meek has been observing and photographing the Great River Road area of South Louisiana. River Road parallels the Mississippi River and the area moving along and into the back country south of Baton Rouge is a land and culture different from anywhere else in the United States. His black and white panoramic images explore the fragile economy, the rural life, and the industrial landscape of this unique area.
